WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: The Game Of The Scene is a core concept of long-form improv that we focus on at House Party Improv. This workshop will help to demystify The Game Of The scene with helpful tips and tricks that will boost your confidence to make your scenes focus on the funny.
*This is not a introduction to improv, this workshop is open to those who have completed a level 1 improv class. You can learn long-form from the beginning through our class curriculum. Look out for our next Level 1 class offering here on our website.

Halloween Night Improv
(8PM)
Join us for a very special edition of Friday Night Improv on October 31st! Our flagship show will get a spooky makeover with horror-inspired comedy being improvised on the spot, all inspired by your suggestions. Our cast will perform in full costume, and we encourage our audience to dress up as well.
There will be a costume contest, and after the show (starting around 10 pm), we’ll transform our theater into a party. We’ll announce the winner of the costume contest, DJ Soul will blast Halloween music, and we’ll have games, snacks, and karaoke!
Black Potion’s bar will be open, offering a wide selection of beer, wine, draft selections, and food from the kitchen for ordering.

Saturday Night Improv Pairs & Fews

Enjoy a night of live, unscripted comedy at House Party Improv. Every show is different, with performers creating funny scenes from audience ideas. It’s a great choice for a date, friends, or a fun break. Our intimate theater located inside Black Potion makes you feel close to the fun and infected by the hilarious energy from our cast. Come ready to laugh, be surprised, and maybe join in on the unique comedy that happens only here. Every show is unique and will never be the same twice, but you can always count on laughing your ass off.
11/1 | Pairs & Fews - This show will take your favorite performers away from the comfort of a large ensemble cast and put them into teams made up of just 2 or 3 people!

With a huge selection beer and wine at the bar, check in grab a drink, and then down the hall where you will find our hidden comedy theater where our resident troupe House Party are waiting for you along with new cast members and hilarious friends made up of San Antonio's best improv performers and special guests ready to put on a show made up on the spot from your suggestions! Every show is unique and will never be the same twice, but you can always count on laughing your ass off.
What is The Pretty Flower? It is a form of improv that is centered on a grounded main scene almost like a one act play that branches off into hilarious tangents exploring the characters lives in the past or the future as well as the world they inhabit yet always returning to our central scene. Like a flower with petals (get it?). Just come laugh and follow the fun!
The Scary Flower will apply the spirit of the Halloween season to this form, as our cast injects each story with horror, spooky things and maybe even a little pumpkin spice.

Friday Night Improv
This is our staple show and the best weekly comedy show in San Antonio. Every Friday evening, a brand new comedy show is made up on the spot by the cast of our house troupe House Party. The show is a variety of acts including short form games like you would see on Wild N’ Out or Whose Line Is It Anyway followed by Long-form sets that can be described as a collection of connected skits or a hilarious improvised narrative play. Guest performances from other improv teams to stand up comics grace our stage often from all over San Antonio, Austin, and all across the country.
