About Your Teacher

Caroline O’Malley

Caroline O’Malley is an alumni of Teach For America with seven years of professional teaching experience. During the day she currently teaches 10th grade Language Arts, but has taught everything from marching band, to theater, to playwriting to speech.

Caroline is a proud graduate of The University of Colorado At Boulder where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities with an emphasis in Classics and Music. She was accepted into the highly competitive theater BFA program at CU but ultimately decided to pursue her love of instrumental music instead in the Golden Buffalo Marching band where she was section leader of the Mellophones. At CU, she was also Vice President of Kappa Kappa Psi, an instrumental music service fraternity. This is where she got her first experience teaching, as she led all recruits through the New Member Program.

A performer her whole life, Caroline started improv after college when she found that most roles for women in theater started to feel like the same starry-eyed damsel that she was sick of playing. She first learned improv in Pueblo, Colorado, and then joined House Party Improv at its inception in August, 2021 when she moved to San Antonio, TX. Discovering the play style of focusing on game of the scene unlocked a whole new way of taking on long-form. You can see Caroline on our stage at many shows including Ladies Night, a monthly showcase and celebration of women in comedy, which she directs and produces. She has been performing every weekend for the last three years and has never looked back.
