Improv class is an experience like no other. It's a space where you can let go of your inhibitions, be vulnerable, and take risks without fear of judgment. Through the use of improv games and exercises, our classes help students develop skills such as active listening, collaboration, and spontaneity while also enhancing confidence and creativity. Our improv classes are not just about being funny, although we are teaching improv comedy, they are about learning to be present in the moment and building authentic connections with others. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced performer, improv offers the opportunity to grow on stage and beyond.
Ages 18+
Our classes and workshops unless otherwise stated are for adults only.

Long-Form: Level 2

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
To register for this class you must have completed Long-form: Level 1 through House Party Improv or completed 3 levels at another improv school. If you would like to apply to take this course with the outside improv experience or training please email housepartyimprov@gmail.com with that information for an exception.

- Understanding long-form improv
- Acting in film or theater
- Auditions (Commercial and Theatrical)
- Maximizing your personal style and voice in your improv

- How acting helps your improv
- Doubling down on commitment (Good Acting)
- Introduction to the Game of the Scene
- Second beats of scenes
- Call backs
- Introduction to the Harold
- Exceeding and breaking expectations.
DETAILS
Price $300.00 (3 hour class once a week for 8 weeks)
Each student will receive a student ID to attend free shows and workshops at Black Potion while enrolled in class. ($200+ value)

Classes begin May 9th with the final class being June 27th
Graduation showcase after final class. (June 29th)

Beginners
Intermediate Level of Improv Experience
The lessons taught in this course will help you in:
- Acting in film or theater, short form/long-form improv or stand up.
- Auditions (Commercial and Theatrical)
- Better public speaking.
- An introduction to Long-Form Improv.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Improv & Acting Basics
- Introduction to Long-Form Improv
- Being more of a natural.
- Drawing from your own experience.
- Group Mind, Agreement and Active Listening.
We will be starting with the essential elements of what makes a good improv scene and expanding from there into an introduction of Long-Form and higher concepts to make sure you have the tools to start performing at your highest level!
