About Your Teacher
Joshua Thomas
Joshua Thomas works as a Talent Agent at Bankston Talent Agency representing nearly 100 Actors across TX, NM & CA and prior to entering the field of representing actors, he was one himself and cut his teeth doing a whole lot of improv.
He is a graduate of the Upright Citizen’s Brigade in Los Angeles, a theater and school started by Amy Poehler and her comedy troupe. He has over a decade of improv experience, actually taking to heart the "10,000 hours rule" and then some.
His training and experience also includes being taught by Key & Peele and former head writer of The Tonight Show, Rebecca Drysdale and being a regular performer at Second City Hollywood where his team ‘Space Jam’ were the record holding undefeated Cage Match Champions and had a regular show for several years.
He has performed at the UCB theater in Los Angeles, Second City, iO West as well as many others around L.A. including running his own shows there for years and teaching classes and workshops from beginning levels to specific forms or areas of focus in improv. He attributes improv to being one of the things that has help him grow the most as an actor and performer.
Joshua Thomas has directed and acted in many film projects in San Antonio, and Los Angeles, and has won awards that include several from The International 48hour Film Project, his comedy Youtube Channel ‘Just Giggle It’ has grown to over 140K Subscribers with over 100 videos and 50 million views. He’s also appeared in College Humor videos and on the CBS Primetime Drama ‘All Rise’. More recently, he won a short film festival run by the creator and stars of Entourage, as well as Best Film in the 2023 International 48 Hour Film Project.
He has performed all over the city and since August 2021, he has performed every single week with House Party. Catch him every Friday and Saturday Night at Black Potion. He also hosts most of the shows and serves as the artistic director of the theater.
