HPI HOUSE TEAM INFO AND EXPECTATIONS

    • House Team cast members as part of House Party Improv will perform a variety of long-forms and/or short form games. Team members must show an understanding and a dedication to creating improvised comedy.

    • House Teams are expected to practice together weekly, or as needed in order to improve and maintain the quality of performances.

    • House Teams must be a priority for team members. This is demonstrated by attending practices and performances. Team members with a pattern of poor attendance or lateness will be removed.

    • House Teams will be assigned a coach by the House Party Improv Artistic Director.

    • Each performer is required to support at least one show per month that they are not in by helping out with either door, camera, or tech.

    • Each performer will have a $30 monthly team dues that will cover the payment for a coach and rehearsal space. Dues may be waived by volunteering at more shows throughout the month to help out with either door, camera, or tech.

    • Coaching will be 2-3 hours every week that will happen at an agreed upon time.

    • Performers are not paid for shows, there is an option for audience members to donate or tip and those are paid out to performers.

    • Every House Team performer is expected to boldly bring their unique voice and sense of humor to shows. As a cast member, you are expected to perform at a high level and demonstrate commitment to improving, but you are NOT expected to be perfect. Cast members must show they are open to notes from their coaches and be willing to work at implementing those notes.

    • House Teams will be in place for six months and will be reevaluated at that point for either continuing on as team, being promoted to a main stage cast member, being given your own show, or any adding, dropping, or shuffling performers around when it comes time for the next auditions.

If you agree with these expectations, read on!
